Bulk Water Supply Scheme for Dheerkot and Neela Butt, AJK

Site for Water Treatment Plant, Dheerkot

Location of Intake Tower, Dheerkot

Azad Government of Jammu & Kashmir planned to provide bulk water supply to hilly areas of Dheerkot and Neelabutt. Water supply from river Jehlum and river Mahal was planned to lift water and convey it to project areas through conductance mains and 5 stage pumping after treatment. The study involved feasibility report, design report, detailed engineering design, cost estimation and tender documents.

JEC worked on water source selection, hydrological studies, route selection, route survey for the project. Work also included design of raw water intake, water treatment plant, pumping stations, water conductance mains and storage tanks. Exploration of the ground water partly and raw water filtration partly were also carried out.

Raw water intake, treatment of 2 MGD wates, seven stage pumping from intake to Neelabut up to an elevation of 6552 ft through a conductance main of total length 37.75 km. are part of the project.
